Kenneth Okonkwo, the spokesman for the Obi/Datti campaign organization has come to the defense of the vice presidential candidate Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed following recent attacks by members of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Recall that Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo has petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest and prosecute Datti-Ahmed and Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the party for comments he described as incendiary and capable of fishing rebellion.

Reacting to the call by Festus Keyamo, Okonkwo noted that Datti-Ahmed was just sharing his opinion as permitted by the constitution.

He made this know in an interview on Arise TV on Saturday, March 25.

“Ahmed Datti is telling you about his own opinion by section 38 and 39 of the Nigeria constitution which gave him freedom of thoughts, expression and belief to express his thoughts the way he wants.”

“And he was in the studio, not in the forest with guns, he was not a rebel. He has not told anyone to carry guns, he said in my opinion if you are not supposed to swear this person in and that is why we are in court.”
