Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has once again been offered a federal appointment by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

This comes after he revealed he turned down an appointment offer from Tinubu, saying he preferred to focus on his personal life after years in public service.

Speaking during the Politics Today programme, aired on Channels Television. Fayose said despite his long-standing personal relationship with Tinubu, he had no intention of joining or accepting any political role under the All Progressives Congress government.

“Have you seen me taking an appointment from the APC? Asiwaju asked me, ‘What would we give you?’ I said, ‘Nothing, sir.’

“At 65, I’d rather be at home, being more responsible, doing other things that I need to do.

“I’ve served well. Two-time governor, I’ve done well. Tomorrow will hold itself,” Fayose stated.

Months after the interview, Tinubu announced on Monday that Fayose will be the Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

A statement is yet to be issued by Fayose to determine whether he will accept the offer this time or reject it to maintain his earlier stance.
