After calling Yoruba people terrorists, lady from Borno wants political power in their land

Hauwa Allahbura Hauwa Allahbura

Hauwa Allahbura, a daughter of late Deputy Controller of Customs, Alhaji Ilyasu Yakubu Allahbura, has suffered backlash on social media after she announced her ambition to represent Apapa I Constituency, Lagos State, at the House of Representatives.

Allahbura, who reportedly hails from Borno State, revealed that Apapa has always been home to her, adding that she grew up within the community and understands its strength and struggles.

She also stated that her ambition is in response to calls, messages and encouragement from the people of Apapa.

In a post on X, she said, "Maybe the people are finally tired of representatives they only see on campaign posters. I will be taking consultations seriously in the coming weeks as we listen, engage and explore what true representation for Apapa should look like. This is not just about politics. It is about visibility, competence, structure and genuine service to our people."

Shortly after her announcement was shared on X, netizens dug up past posts she had made on social media that they consider to be against the same Yoruba people she intends to represent as a non-native.

One post read, "I am sensing there's a strong agenda by some YORUBA on X to YORUBANIZE NIGERIA. I say strongly that this attempt would be met with strong resistance by well-meaning Nigerians. IT CANNOT HAPPEN."

In another post, she laid a curse on a Yoruba movement that aims to enlighten Yoruba people on the need for self-preservation.

Allahbura wrote, "Ko ni da fun Yoruba Ronu movement. Terrorist ni wan a ma proscribe won. Goodnight."

She also described the movement as a propaganda machine of the All Progressives Congress, the same political platform she now wants to run on.

She said, "Naija Ronu! Naija Ronu! Naija Ronu! Naija Ronuuuuuuu!!! Forget the APC X media propaganda bullying machine called the Yoruba Ronu movement. Nah scam! I repeat, Nah scam. Do not be scammed. Good morning, and have a beautiful day.
Whoever brought this Ronu strategy should be sacked."

Reacting, one netizen on X, @Rare_Zion, SAID, "This ones who can not even become street leaders in their hometowns are all looking to become political office holders in Yoruba land. Omo Yorùbás hospitality has been thrown right back in our face. And some so-called leaders will still think they know better by allowing this?"

@pontrol_777 said, "Are these people mad?? Go back to the north!!! You want to represent Yoruba people you called terrorist under the APC party you said was funding Yoruba terrorists? Kole wole!!!"

@zezezizizaza said, "Lmao….Yoruba people never ready sha. When they are, they will bring back OPC and empower and support them then all these rubbish will stop. Until then, ride on jare."

@OwolabiJohnso15 said, "My sensible and responsible Yoruba ọmọlúwàbí, please stop engaging an unfortunate clown and court jester like this lady, stop wasting your time on street urchins and low life nitwit like her, she doesn't worth it. We should focus on serious matter and ignore this clout chaser."
