Mixed reactions have trailed Tobi Amusan's impressive victory at the 100m hurdles final at the ongoing African Games in Ghana.

The former world champion lived up to the expectations of fans as she blazed through the final sprint.

The record holder was a clear favorite but faced a disqualification scare only to be handed a yellow card for beating the gun the first time.

She made no mistake the second time, sprinting to an easy win and clocking a time of 12.89s.

Her victory didn't come without a few reactions from fans at the arena. In response to a post on X by Ghanaian sports journalist, Gary Al-Smith, many hailed Amusan for her prowess on the track while others questioned why she wasn't disqualified after the false start.

A user with the handle @kingseidu asked, "Gary, wasn't she supposed to be disqualified for the false start??? Why the yellow?" while another with the handle @___cecil_ wrote: "should’ve been disqualified for that false start but we move lol"

Amusan's victory meant she completed a hat-trick of African Games titles after successfully claiming gold in the last two editions in Congo Brazzaville and Rabat.

The other Nigerian athlete in the race, Faith Osamuyi, just missed out on a podium finish after running 13.77s in fourth place.
