Adekunle Gold defends Simi after backlash for apology to LGBTQ community

Singer Adekunle Gold has reacted to the criticism that followed the apology from his singer wife, Simi, over a statement she made about the LGBTQ community.

Twitter users had slammed Simi after they discovered that her apology to the LGBTQ community came after Adekunle Gold featured in a gay magazine.

Simi who had stated that homosexual act is unnatural made a u-turn with an apology saying, "Nobody should have to live in fear. I carelessly and casually addressed an issue that is a matter of life and death for many. It was not my intention to hurt you, but I did and I’m sorry".

She was immediately dragged with claims that her apology lacks sincerity because it was done to enable her husband to secure the deal with the magazine.

Adekunle Gold has now come to her defence with a statement in which he revealed that he has no issues with gay people.
