One of the main causes of the nation's enduring problems, according to Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church God (RCCG), is the lack of respect for the traditional institution.

The distinguished priest added that because the monarchs' powers have been usurped, Nigeria is still dealing with some issues.

At the 40th Holy Ghost Convention of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, Adeboye delivered a sermon titled The King of Glory.

He said: “If we restore the dignity, the ability and glory of our kings, all will be well.

“That is why in Yoruba land, we call them (monarchs) alase; that is, those who rule by decree, just like what Almighty God did in Genesis 1:3. ‘Let there be light’ and immediately there was light.

“A king is someone who does what he wants and nobody can query him. That is why, again in Yoruba land, we call them kabyesi, the one who rules by decree and you cannot query.”

Bishop Wale Oke, the Presiding Bishop of The Sword of the Spirit Ministries and President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), stated that the convention was utilized to give a strategic shift in God's purpose for Nigeria.

The bishop predicted that God will act once more, especially at this pivotal juncture in the country's history.

He continued by saying that the convention gave believers from all denominations the chance to experience heavenly connections of all kinds, be blessed, and be empowered.
