Actor Williams Uchemba has stated that he would not comment on the marital status or alleged children of late actor Alexx Ekubo, stating that such matters should be addressed only by Ekubo’s immediate family.

Speaking during a recent interview, Uchemba, a close friend of the deceased actor, said he would respect any decision Ekubo had made to keep parts of his private life out of the public domain.

“Though I do not think I am in the place to say because if Alex did want it like that, I think I would respect it. I would respect his will and he wanted it that way,” he said.

He added that if any information were to be released, it should come directly from the family, noting that some individuals preferred to keep personal matters private.

“If anything would come out from that, it would be his family. People have their decisions, some people would not want it out there or in the public. So, it is still best for his immediate family to say anything on it,” he added.

Uchemba’s remarks followed growing social media discussion about whether Ekubo had children.

Ekubo’s family had confirmed that he died at Evercare Hospital in Lagos after battling metastatic kidney cancer and had requested privacy while mourning.

Over the course of his career, Ekubo appeared in more than 100 Nollywood productions.
