House of Representatives House of Representatives

Ndudi Elumelu, the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives has cautioned his colleagues against staying in Abuja.

According to him, the security of the capital city is being threatened so they should leave the place during their long holiday.

He said this on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, after Deputy Speaker, Idris Wase disclosed that the House will adjourn till September.

The lawmaker said: “I want to beg members, Abuja is no longer safe, please, if possible, go back to your constituency. The place is so insecure."

Mr Elumelu’s statement comes after many Nigerians living in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are expressing concerns over a spike in insecurity.
