The Ogun State House of Assembly has disclosed that the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, will present the 2023 budget proposal on Thursday.
The Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, disclosed this while reading the governor’s correspondence to the assembly during the plenary held on Tuesday at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The letter states, “I thank Mr. Speaker and the honourable members of the Ogun State House of Assembly for the cooperation we have continued to enjoy from the hallowed chamber. Your legislative support has indeed been pivotal to the success story of our building the state together.
“In accordance with the provision of Section, 121 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I write to inform the honourable house that I intend to present the Ogun State year 2023 budget proposal to the state House of Assembly on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 10am.”
The clerk of the house and Head of Legislative Service, ‘Deji Adeyemo, in a statement issued on Tuesday, said Abiodun would be hosted by the assembly on Thursday.
Adeyemo said, “In consonance with Section 121 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, (as amended), the Ogun State House of Assembly will on Thursday, November 17, 2022, play host to the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for the presentation of the Year 2023 Appropriation Bill.
“The presentation of the 2023 budget proposal, being the fourth since the inception of the present administration in the state, would take place in the hallowed chamber of the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta at 10am prompt.”
