The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has made her acting debut in the Netflix fantasy series Aníkúlápó: The Ghoul Awakens, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kunle Afolayan.
Dabiri-Erewa shared a short clip from the series on X (formerly Twitter), revealing her appearance as the Iyalode, a respected female leader who steps in to mediate peace between warring communities.
In her post, she described the role as a brief but meaningful stint in what she called Afolayan’s “legendary” epic, urging fans not to miss the show now streaming on Netflix.
The appearance marks Dabiri-Erewa’s first foray into acting. Her casting was announced in mid-January 2026 as part of the series’ expanded ensemble, which also includes Portuguese actor Pedro Teixeira and popular Nigerian media personality Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, widely known as KieKie.
Aníkúlápó: The Ghoul Awakens premiered on January 30, 2026, continuing the story of the 2022 film Aníkúlápó.
