Abia Gov Election: I was threatened, bribed, intimidated, but I resisted all - FUTO VC Prof Nnenna Oti

Professor Nnenna Oti, the Abia State INEC Returning Officer has revealed how she was intimidated and threatened during the Governorship election in Abia state.

The Abia state Returning Officer, who declared the governorship election results on March 22, has since received praises from Nigerians and a rousing welcome from students of the Federal University Technology Owerri, where she is the first female vice chancellor.

Prof Oti was seen a series of video shared on social media, been escorted by a large number of students singing and praising her after her deliverance at the just concluded governorship election which took place on March 18, 2023.

Addressing the students who had gathered to welcome her back to the school, she stated that she was bribed, intimidated and threatened but she resisted them and announced Alex Otti, governorship candidate of the Labour Party, winner of the election.

There were jubilations in the streets of Abia as residents shouted with joy and excitement that their votes indeed counted.

She said; "They came with their threats, they came with their money, they came with their intimidation, but I resisted all".
