The police in Osun on Monday evening announced that the 14 passengers kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen at Ajeokun junction, along Otan Ile/Imesi Ile road in Obokun local government area of the state have regained their freedom.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mrs Abiodun Ige, made this known while briefing newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
DAILY POST reports that suspected Fulani herdsmen had on Sunday attacked an Abuja-bound commercial bus, and abducted 14 passengers.
According to the Commissioner, all the victims were rescued unhurt. She, however. said the police could not ascertain the identities of the abductors.
In the same vein, the Osun State Coordinator of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Chief Aladesawe Adedeji, who earlier gave an insight on the abduction to our Correspondent, said the victims were rescued by the combined forces of Police, operatives of Department of State Service (DSS) and Vigilante groups.

“The victims were rescued unhurt after a gun duel with those criminals, who later took to their heels after being overpowered by the superior fire powers of the rescue team.

“We are using this medium to warn kidnappers to either relocate from our state or surrender, because very soon , we are going to come out in full force to fight them to standstill,” Adedeji said.
