Comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has called out blogs and influencers for going quiet now that he has returned to Cardiff to fulfil his promise to fans.

AY took to his X account on Friday to express his frustration, days after promising to stage a free show in Cardiff following the failed October 25 edition of his ‘AY Live: Single and Not Searching’ UK tour.

“When AY didn’t perform in Cardiff, blogs and influencers carried the story everywhere without asking questions,” he wrote.

“Now I am in Cardiff to keep my promise with some personal sacrifices to the fans and everywhere is quiet.”

The comedian added that critics were only waiting for bad news about him.

“Just wait make GOD PUNISH AY miss that show tomorrow, the ring lights will start working again. Na only bad news dey give una satisfaction,” he added, with a laughing emoji.

AY had earlier apologised after failing to perform at the Cardiff show, blaming it on an unresolved payment dispute with the organisers.

He said the outstanding balance for his team’s performance had been due since September but remained unpaid, despite assurances that it would be settled before they arrived at the venue.

He later promised to return to Cardiff at his own expense to make it up to fans, saying he would change his flight arrangements and organise his colleagues for a free show on November 7.
