Senator Adams Oshiomhole has advised former President Goodluck Jonathan not to bow to the pressure to contest the 2027 presidential election.
The former Edo State Governor said only the enemies of the former president would want him to contest the polls.
He made this known in a recent intervoew on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
According to him, the former president will lose to the All Progressives Congress, APC, if he chose to contest.
Oshiomhole said: “How can Jonathan be a threat? We defeated him before, when PDP was truly PDP. If a man had PDP at its peak, I think it is only his enemies that will push him into the ring.
“That may not be helpful to him. I think he has managed to demonstrate that out of power you can be relevant and really at peace.
“If I will be able to advise him, I will say ‘Sir, maintain this status’. If I were him I will spend the rest of my life trying to find relevance, which he has already found”.
While the reports persist, Jonathan has yet to disclose his 2027 ambitions openly.
