The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, has cast his vote at his polling unit, Esan Central in Edo State.

Speaking to the press after the exercise, he praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the smooth process.

He noted that the BVAS worked perfectly and encouraged Nigerians to go out and cast their votes.

“This time around, I am rating INEC very highly. The reason is that everything is moving smoothly and the BVAS is working perfectly. Just go there and vote. I believe that the way things are going here should be the same everywhere. What I’m seeing here is a testimony that INEC is getting it right,” he said.

Okpebholo stated that he has nothing to fear about the election, and he believes he will be victorious. “A lot of friends have been calling me to tell me I’ve been getting a lot of votes in different places. PDP did not get one vote here because this is my home and my people love me. For that reason, I have nothing to fear in my home.”

Speaking on the security situation in Edo State, Okpebholo accused the current Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, of trying to cause panic. “Nothing is happening, nobody is fighting; no knockout; not even a stick of matches. It is just to scare people away from voting. Obaseki, his wisdom, I don’t know. He tried to cause fire in Nigeria.”
