Following the arrest of Abu Dan-Tabawa in Zamfara, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state have stormed the state police headquarters in Gusau, in protest of the arrest.

Specifically, they are protesting over the arrest of Dan-Tabawa, a political ally of the immediate past governor of the state, Abdulaziz Yari.

They are consequently demanding for the unconditional release of the arrested member.

According to Premium Times, quoting Zamfara state governor’s media aide, Zailani Baffa Dan-Tabawa was arrested for holding a secret meeting with armed bandits.

Holding placards with different inscriptions, the protesters accused the state police commissioner, Usman Nagogo, of partisanship.

They also decried what they described as frequent arrest of their members in the state.

Going further, one of the protesters claim the state police commissioner is the campaign director of the ruling Peoples Democratic party in Zamfara.

“CP Nagogo is the PDP coordinator in Zamfara,” she wrote on her own placard.
