Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has shared his thoughts on the party’s loss in the governorship and state assembly election held on March 18.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa on Wednesday, April 5, Adamu noted that the APC lost the election Kano state as a result of selfishness.

Recall that the Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, beat Nasir Yusuf Gawuna of the APC to emerge as governor-elect of Kano state.

He said: ”Kano is among the states that we beat our chests and said that this is ours, because whatever we do, Kano is at the top of our list.

“But because of selfishness, we found ourselves in this situation. We shouldn’t have lost Kano, but everything that happened to a person, God knows.

“We had warned all APC governors in Nigeria to do away with any form of selfishness before the election, and we think it is that selfishness that led us to lose in a state like Kano,” he added.

Adamu said the party’s loss was as a result of some people’s inability to do what they were told.

He noted that when the election noise subsides, the party will take action against those erring members.

He expressed hope that the APC will win the elections in Adamawa and Kebbi state.
