Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, stated that the All Progressives Congress has performed exceptionally well for Nigerians despite the challenges.
The chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) made this statement on Monday, July 8, 2024, in Abuja while speaking with journalists at the party’s National Secretariat. He led some members of the forum on a visit to the party’s leadership.
After a closed-door meeting with the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, Uzodinma mentioned that the meeting aimed to maintain contact with the party’s leadership.
He also expressed loyalty to the party’s leadership and offered condolences to Ganduje, who recently lost his mother-in-law while the governors were in Abuja.
“Politically speaking, we don’t need to overemphasize it, the truth is that the APC has excelled in Nigeria. The current economic issues are a global problem,” the PGF chairman explained.
The Imo Governor added that the administration led by President Bola Tinubu is implementing policies to address the country’s current economic challenges given the situation encountered upon assuming office.
“I am very confident that soon, Nigerians will be celebrating how he has managed to navigate the challenges,” Uzodimma said.
He further mentioned that the meeting aimed to show solidarity with the party’s national chairman and other officials.
“The national party leadership is dedicated to serving us, managing the party’s daily operations, policies, and administration,” he said.
Regarding the Edo State governorship election, Uzodinma expressed confidence that the APC would win the upcoming polls on September 21.
“As the chairman of the PGF, I speak on behalf of my 20 governor colleagues. With the APC in control of 20 states out of 36, and having produced a president and members of the Federal Executive Council, we are well-positioned for success,” he stated.
In response to Uzodinma’s remarks, Ganduje commended the Governors for their visit, emphasizing that their support was crucial to the party.
“The governors are assets to the party, and we will protect their interests as they continue to uphold the party's values,” Ganduje said.
