Ibrahim Bilal, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Adamawa has been removed from his post.

According to Daily Trust, Bilal was involved in anti-party activities, financial mismanagement, and gross violation of the party’s constitution.

His deputy, Ismaila Tadawus has been sworn in as the new chairman of the party in the state as 24 of the 36 officers appended their signatures.

The executive committee of the APC accused the chairman of extortion at a meeting at the party’s secretariat in Yola, the state capital, on Monday, September 5.

This was contained in a speech read by the party’s publicity secretary in the state, Mohammed Abdullahi, where the committee also alleged that the chairman stayed away from the secretariat for two months and was conspicuously absent at the party’s governorship primary.

Abdullahi maintained that Bilal has refused to respond to allegations against him. He absconded from his duty to stay in Abuja when the party was working on reconciling members and addressing grievances within the party’s hierarchy.

“The chairman has shrouded the finances of the party in secrecy and has been running the affairs of the party like a personal investment with no checks and balances and without auditing since he cane on board”, the statement reads in part.
