APC assures watertight security for National Convention

The ruling All Progressives Congress APC has assured its members and Abuja residents of a hitch-free and secure environment for its National Convention slated for March 27 and 28.

During the committee’s inaugural meeting in Abuja, the Chairman and Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd), emphasized that the party is leaving nothing to chance regarding the safety of thousands of delegates, government officials and international observers expected to attend the high-profile event.

General Musa outlined a strategic shift towardt preventive security measures, noting that the scale of the convention requires a robust and professionally managed architecture.

He stressed that the committee’s primary mandate is to identify and mitigate potential threats well before the commencement of proceedings.

The security framework is designed to be integrated and synchronized across all relevant law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

According to the chairman, the goal is to create an orderly environment that reflects the stature of the APC as a national institution.

A central theme of the inaugural session was the necessity of inter-agency cooperation. General Musa noted that the success of the convention’s security rests on the ability of various intelligence and law enforcement arms to harmonize their unique capabilities into a single, unified operational plan.

“Our approach must be preventive rather than reactive,” Musa stated, urging committee members to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and discipline.

According to him, the convention serves as a critical platform for the party to renew its leadership and reinforce its vision for national development, making its safety a matter of strategic importance.

The committee has been tasked with conducting a thorough assessment of vulnerabilities and designing a comprehensive plan that guarantees the safety of every participant, from media representatives to top-tier dignitaries.

General Musa expressed confidence in the collective expertise of the committee members, noting that their dedication would be the cornerstone of a smooth and successful National Convention.
