The West Africa chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Wing has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, reaffirming the commitment of Nigerian youths in the diaspora to sustained political participation and national development.

The endorsement was announced at a high-level Youth Town Hall Meeting held in Accra, Ghana, under the theme “Back Home, Still Involved.” The event brought together government officials, party youth leaders, cultural figures, community stakeholders, and Nigerian youths resident across West Africa.

Discussions at the Town Hall focused on youth mobilisation, leadership responsibility, and the need for sustained civic engagement as Nigeria prepares for the 2027 general elections. Participants described the engagement as timely and impactful, noting a renewed determination among diaspora youths to remain actively involved in Nigeria’s political and developmental processes.

The meeting also highlighted the expanding structure of the APC Youth Wing West Africa, with operational chapters in Togo, Benin Republic, and Côte d’Ivoire. Organisers disclosed that preparations are underway for the launch of new secretariats in Lagos, Accra, and Benin Republic, aimed at strengthening coordination and youth mobilisation across the sub-region.

Speaking at the event, the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, emphasised the importance of inclusive platforms that amplify youth voices in governance. He described Nigerian youths in the diaspora as a critical force in shaping the country’s democratic future, stressing that political engagement beyond national borders promotes unity and shared responsibility.

In a similar vein, the APC Youth Leader in Lagos State, Hon. Muritala Ishola Seriki, urged young people to move beyond political awareness to active participation. He identified mobilisation, discipline, and consistency as key pillars for democratic growth and political continuity.



Representing the APC Youth Wing West Africa, the Coordinator and Director of Operations and Logistics, Hon. Adewale Bolowotan, said the Town Hall demonstrated that Nigerian youths abroad remain deeply connected to the nation’s political process. He noted that the engagement marked a strategic step toward long-term diaspora youth mobilisation.

The event featured notable public figures, including veteran Nollywood actor Saheed Balogun, actor and youth mobiliser Lege Miami, and APC stakeholder Alhaji Fowosere, all of whom encouraged youths to stay informed, purposeful, and actively involved in nation-building.

A major highlight of the gathering was the unanimous endorsement of President Tinubu’s second-term bid. Youth leaders cited ongoing reforms, youth-focused initiatives, and the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda as reasons for their support, pledging to mobilise Nigerian youths across West Africa in backing the President’s vision.

In his closing remarks, the Director-General of the APC Youth Wing West Africa, Hon. Gideon Olatunde Igbasan, described the Town Hall as a defining moment for diaspora youth participation. He pointed to initiatives such as NELFUND, the 3 Million Technical Talent Programme, TVET and SUPA, CREDITCORP, housing support through MREIF, and job-creation reforms across key sectors as evidence of tangible youth-centred governance.



He stressed that these initiatives represent enduring systems rather than political slogans and called for their protection through youth registration, mobilisation, and participation ahead of the 2027 elections.

Organisers concluded that the Accra Town Hall was not a one-off event but part of a sustained movement, with continued engagements planned across the region.
