Former National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole has described Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a "better Christian".

The former governor of Edo State made this known in an interview on Arise TV on Wednesday, August 3 as he spoke shared his thoughts in the debatable Muslim-Muslim ticket of the ruling party.

Recall that Tinubu's choice of Kashim Shettima as his running mate ahead of the presidential election has sparked controversy. The ticket has led to massive defection of members from the ruling party while several Christian bodies have condemned the move.

However, reacting to the news, Oshiomhole said that Tinubu has proven with his marriage to Senator Oluremi Tinubu that religion doesn't play a major role in key decisions.

He said: "Somebody like Asiwaju who has a Christian wife of about 40 years. Happily married, no record of divorce with four or five children. Some of them are Muslims and some of them are Christians. Is that not an example of what a nation should be?"

Oshiomhole was recently appointed the Deputy Director General of the party's campaign as it hopes to retain its hold on the presidency.

Simon Lalong, Governor of Plateau State has been tasked with coordinating the presidential campaign council of the party as Director General.

The duo were settled on by the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima; and APC governors after a meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, August 3.
