Three Nigerian music heavyweights, Davido, Burna Boy, and Ayra Starr, have been nominated for Artiste of the Year at the 11th edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).

According to the nomination list, Davido and Burna Boy lead the pack with five nominations each, while rising star Shallipopi earned four, including Artiste of the Year and Song of the Year. Rema also bagged three nominations, among them was Artiste of the Year.

Ayra Starr, nominated in two categories, will also be battling it out with top acts such as Burna Boy, Davido, and Morocco’s El Grande Toto for the prestigious title.

Global public voting will officially open on September 10.

This year’s AFRIMA awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Nigeria from November 25 to 30, 2025.
