Victor Osimhen has reiterated that he is not obsessed with breaking the record set by the late legendary Rashidi Yekini.

With 32 international goals, the 27-year-old is just six goals away from surpassing the long-standing record.

Yekini registered 37 goals for Nigeria, making him the country's all-time top scorer till date.

Osimhen, who is best positioned to smash this record insists he is focused on helping the team.

“The captaincy today gave me a strong sense of belonging. I’m not thinking about equaling or surpassing Rashidi Yekini’s record for now; it’s all about the team,” Osimhen told reporters after Nigeria won against Uganda.

“I am trying to fight for my team to get goals, assists, but yes, hopefully not this AFCON and maybe not the qualifiers, but one day I know I am going to get there.”
