52 Biafra agitators remanded for attempting to hoist flag in Enugu Government House

Report indicates that 52 members of the Biafra Zionist Front (BZF) led by Benjamin Onwuka, were arrested in Enugu on May 30.

The arrest occurred while on their way to hoist the Biafra flag inside the Enugu Government House.

The apprehended members are said to be in the Enugu Correctional facility.

According to report, the Pro-Biafra agitators had concluded a procession near the Okpara Square and were allegedly marching to the Government House when they got arrested.

It was gathered that they were arraigned at the Enugu Magistrate Court on Wednesday, May 31, and remanded in prison including their leader Benjamin Onwuka.

This would be the third attempt the BZF try to gain access to the Enugu House failing on each occasion.

In the past, a member of the group was shot dead by the police while trying to seize the Enugu Broadcasting Service.
