The peace and stability of Nigeria have been brought to a test once again in light of the recent 'invasion' of the Southwest by Fulani herdsmen.

This illegal and unwanted trespassing as many have described it has caused the death of several hundred locals in the Southwest including some top personalities.

Since the turn of the year, Fulani herdsmen have been accused of committing several crimes including rape, theft, kidnap, and murder. They have also come under intense pressure by various bigwigs to vacate the region.

No doubt, Sunday Igboho led that charge for the people of Oyo. Governor Akeredolu also in a speech Monday, January 18, 2021, gave the herdsmen a 7-day ultimatum to vacate the forest reserves.

Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde has been described as a lost son after his somewhat protectionist posture of herders. In a statewide broadcast on Thursday, January 21, 2021, he said his job was to eliminate the criminal elements within the Fulani's and not the entire group.

Below are the names of popular Yorubas that have been allegedly killed by the Fulanis

1) Olufon of Ifon Ondo was kidnapped and killed after paying the ransom.

2) Mrs. Olufunke Olakunrin was killed by Fulani armed bandits in Ore.

3) Dr. Amos Arijesuyo, Deputy Registrar Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) was kidnapped and killed after paying the ransom.

4) Dr. Fatai Aborode was tortured and killed in Igangan.

5) Popular herbal practitioner, Oko Oloyun was killed in Igbo Ora.
