Reports state that forty-four Nigerians have been deported for illegally staying in Ghana among other offences.
According to a source which told Ghana media, JoyNews, the deportees have been sentenced to 99 days imprisonment and they will be deported after serving their sentence.
In Tamale 43 males and one female are said to have served their sentence and will be escorted to Accra by immigration officers to receive their deportation letters.
The source told the news outlet that measures have been set up to ensure a smooth process.
In a publication cited on saharareporters.com, various regional capitals the deportees would pass through have been alerted to ensure a smooth passage.
This action by the Ghana Immigration comes after investigations leading them to discover several illegal entries into the country.
