26-year-old man arrested for defiling nine-month-old baby

A 26-year-old Agboola Adebayo has been detained by Lago autherities for allegedly defiling a nine-month-old baby.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the state police command, said in a statement on Wednesday, March 29, that the matter was reported to the police on Monday, March 27, at around 10:00 p.m. by a worried member of the public.

He claimed the suspect, who is a resident of Railway Ijora Badia, reportedly entered the unit where the baby's mother had just placed her before hastily leaving the building to buy something.

After engaging in sexual contact with the infant, the suspect allegedly fled the scene.

He said: “The mother of the baby, aged 16 years, came to the station with the baby and was issued a medical form to enable her to take the child to the hospital for urgent medical attention. However, on Tuesday at about 11:15pm, the suspect was smoked out from his hiding by detectives from Ijora Badia Division.”

The officer stated that the suspect admitted to the crime during interrogations.

Hundeyin added that the scene of the crime was photographed when the police visited, and a stained trouser with blood was kept as an exhibit.
