24 new ultra-modern trains begin operation in September

According to NRC, Nigerians can comfortably reside in Ibadan and work in Lagos when the trains commence operation.

A Twitter user identified as @speciee said he would not sleep in Lagos whenever he travels to the state from Ibadan.

Another user with the handle @LilEdNosir wrote: "This is the time to go look for a house in Ibadan!! It will be very cheap right now!! Hurry!! When the train operation starts, prices will thripple not double!!"

The federal government disclosed that the operations would commence on the Lagos-Ibadan rail line from the middle of September.

The managing director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Fidet Okhiria, disclosed this on Saturday, August 15, in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, during an inspection tour of the project by some ministers.

The minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and his information counterpart, Lai Mohammed, inspected the Lagos-Ibadan rail line during which they both took a train ride from Ebute-Metta Junction (EBJ) rail station in Lagos to Ibadan.
