The police in Imo State have arrested 23-year-old Wisdom Uzoma for allegedly killing a man, Tobechi Duru, 23, during a cult clash.

The incident occurred on February 20, 2021, at Agwa in the Oguta Local Government Area of the state, while the suspect was arrested the following day.

The spokesman for the command, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the killing of the victim and the arrest of the suspect to our correspondent in Owerri on Wednesday.

He said, “On February 20, a distress call was received and operatives of the command moved to the Agwa Secondary School, Agwa, in the Oguta LGA.

“On arrival at the scene, the operatives met the remains of a young man, who was later identified as Tobechi Duru, 23, of Obudi Agwa, in the Oguta LGA, Imo State. He was said to have been killed while two rival cults clashed on the school premises.

“However, on February 21, based on discreet and painstaking investigation, operatives of the command arrested the fleeing suspect, one Wisdom Uzoma, 23, of Obidi Agwa in the Oguta LGA of Imo State.

“He confessed to the crime and will be prosecuted accordingly.”
