Femi Onireti, a former House of Representatives candidate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, has been appointed as the Director General of City Boy Movement in Oyo State.
This comes after he dumped the PDP for the ruling party.
Onireti represented the party on the platform of the PDP in the Ogbomoso North/ Ogbomoso South/ Oriire federal constituency in 2023.
His appointment was announced by the movement’s Director-General, Mr Francis Shoga, in Abuja on Tuesday, April 8.
This means Onireti will lead the grassroots mobilisation structure championing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
Shoga noted that he was chosen based on his “wide political network” in the state.
Onireti, in his reaction, expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him.
He also pledged to deploy his experience to advance the objectives of the movement.
He said, “I am committed to galvanising our structures and ensuring that Oyo State remains a stronghold for the ideals we stand for”.
