Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has said he's going to support the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu because he's a Yoruba man.
He also stated that Tinubu deserves support to enable him to develop the reforms his administration has started.
Adeleke said this during a Channels TV interview shortly after he was declared winner of Saturday's governorship election in Osun.
MyNigeria reported that Adeleke thanked Tinubu for the success of the election, leaving many wondering what role the President played in ensuring his victory.
When asked if he had an agreement with the President, Adeleke said, "I never reach an agreement with President Tinubu. My support is just based on he is a Yoruba man and his from South West. And I believe that all the federal roads that he has started, I want to encourage him not to forget South West too, because all our federal roads link to other regions.
"I felt that since a Yoruba man has won the first term, we should give him another chance to develop his reform."
Asked if he would go all out for Tinubu in 2027, he said, "Big time."
He also stated that in his support for Tinubu, he won't mind working with those he defeated at the Osun State governorship election because he would be doing it for the President.
