Evangelist Chimezie Gabriel, the spiritual director of Wonderland Adoration Prayer Movement Outreach, says it is not yet time for former presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi to lead Nigeria as President.

The controversial evangelist made this known in a sermon ahead of the 2027 general elections.

With political permutations gathering steam ahead of next year’s campaign period, Gabriel urged Atiku, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Obi of the Labour Party, to refrain from contesting.

While Obi appears to have a clearer path to clinch the Labour Party’s ticket in 2027, the former Vice President will contend with Rotimi Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation, and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, both of whom are also eyeing the presidential ticket.

However, speaking on the opposition coalition’s chances, Evangelist Gabriel dismissed their prospects, stating:

“This message is from God. The Lord spoke to me to deliver this message to the world, especially Nigeria. This message is for Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi concerning the 2027 presidential election. The Lord delivered a message to me; remember, I am a messenger of God, I am a prophet of God.

“The Lord delivered this message to me and said I should deliver it to the world, to Peter Obi and Atiku. They should not come out in the 2027 presidential election. They should go home and relax. It is not yet their time to become President or Vice President of Nigeria.”

He continued: “This message is for Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar. Please, don’t misunderstand it; it is from God. The Lord said I should tell you, ‘Don’t come out in the 2027 presidential election.’ The current president has already taken over the seat. That is the message of God.”
