2026 WCQ Playoffs: Super Eagles boycott training over unpaid bonuses

The Super Eagles reportedly boycotted their scheduled training session on Tuesday, November 11, due to unpaid bonuses.

According to widespread reports, the team is yet to receive its bonuses for both the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The players are reportedly demanding a quick resolution to the matter before resuming preparations for the crucial FIFA World Cup playoff.

“The full squad, including officials, boycotted training today in Morocco because of unresolved issues with outstanding payments,” the statement read.

“The Super Eagles are awaiting a quick resolution to continue preparations for Thursday’s game against Gabon.”

The Super Eagles will face the Panthers of Gabon in the semifinal playoff on Thursday, November 13.

A win will guarantee Eric Chelle’s side a place in the final playoff against either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday, November 16.
