2023 Elections: Wike upset as BVAS fails to accredit him, wife

Rivers State Governor, Nysome Wike has expressed disappointment after the Biomodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine failed to accredit him and his wife at their polling units.

The governor and his wife Justice Suzzette Eberechi Wike having arrived at polling unit 7 in Ward 9 in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, the couple were seen going through a difficult time after the BVAS deployed by he Independent National Electoral Commission failed to recognise their features.

According to reports, Governor Wike and his wife were the first voters at the polling unit.

It was gathered that after 20 minutes of unsuccessful tries, a female electoral official appealed to the the governor and his wife to check back.

The female official said that the technicians will rectify the faults on the BVAS. She added that the problem is being experienced across the state.
