2023 Election: Atiku’s presidential dream hanging as PDP members in the North defect to APC

Report indicates that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP chapter in Sokoto state has been faced with massive deflection of its members to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

In a statement released by Malam Bashar Abubakar, an aide to Senator Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North), it was gathered that a group known as the Ubandoma/Sagir Network and some other PDP members have defected from the PDP.

Some of the members of the group have since been identified as a lineup of strong supporters of the Sokoto state PDP gubernatorial candidate Malam Sa’idu Ubandoma and his running mate, Alhaji Sagir Bafarawa.

Alhaji Isa Sadiq-Achida the chairman of the APC chapter in Sokoto state who received the defectors vowed to treat them as equals and also give them the benefits of inclusivity.

This and other defection seem to have shaken the walls of the PDP. Although they continue to show their readiness and commitment as they embark on their campaign across the country.

The APC gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu on his part, welcomed the defectors.

The leader of the defectors, Alhaji Ahmad Labaran also expressed joy at the full support of the APC and revealed their readiness to work for the party.
