2023: Dino Melaye says he knows why Tinubu was absent from Peace Accord meeting

Senator Dino Melaye, the spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign opines that the absence of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu from the Presidential Peace Accord signing ceremony on Thursday was intentional.

Recall that while the presidential candidates of the major political parties were present at the ceremony which took place in Abuja, Tinubu was represented by his running mate, Kashim Shettima.

His absence attracted speculations with reports emerging later on that the former Lagos governor is currently in London, United Kingdom. With Tinubu's health under scrutiny, Dino in a video he shared on his Facebook page said he knows the reason why he (Tinubu) was absent.

He however failed to state the reason the APC candidate was absent.

He said, “I noticed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the only presidential candidate who was absent at the signing of the National Peace Accord today. He was obviously the only one absent.

“I know why he was absent. Unfortunately, there was no provision for thumbprinting. You definitely have to sign. Atiku signed and that is all I have to say”.
