While the dusk is yet to settle on the appropriate age of the presidential candidate of the All Progress Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, more evidence shows the former Lagos governor might not be forthright with his age has emerged.

It is public knowledge that Tinubu was born on March 29, 1952, which makes him 70 years old. However, his academic records from Chicago State University in the United States peck his date of birth as 1954.

Tinubu was born in southwestern Nigeria.

Despite the brouhaha surrounding his age, a chieftain of the APC, Mike Msuaan has taken a swipe at the opposition parties and critics of Tinubu who see his age as a barrier.

The politician made the statement when he met with scores of party stalwarts on Thursday in Abuja.

Msuaan, who is the Director of National Youth Mobilisation (North Central) of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, urged them to borrow a leaf from the President of the United States, Joe Biden.

He said, “The US president is as old as Tinubu. It’s not about age. It’s about what you have upstairs. Tinubu has the experience better than all of them.

“The right thing the president would do is to assemble the best hands for the country. He has been tested and trusted. He did it in Lagos and he is going to do it for Nigeria.”
