15 stranded Nigerians to return from Europe - NIDCOM

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has announced that the Federal Government is set to evacuate another batch of 15 Nigerians stranded in Europe.

The commission made this know on Thursday via its Twitter handle after a batch of 246 Nigerians stranded in Dubai arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Wednesday afternoon.

The statement read in part, "Another 15 Stranded Nigerians in France, Germany and Netherlands will depart citizenM Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris via @airfrance flight to Nigeria and Cotonou at 11:30 a.m to Murtala Muhammed Int’l Airport Lagos today 9th of July, 2020."

It explained that the evacuation exercise was coordinated by the Nigerian Mission in France, Germany, and the Netherlands, and monitored by NIDCOM.

According to the commission, the returnees are expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at about 4:45pm.

It noted that the evacuees would proceed on 14 days self-isolation as mandated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Federal Ministry of Health, and the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19.
