Governor Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa State has said that 122 almajiri children repatriated from other states have tested positive for COVID-19.
 The children were repatriated from Adamawa, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano and Plateau States.
 The almajiri children who tested positive for the virus makes up 51% of the state's COVID-19 record.
 He said, “They were quarantined at the NYSC orientation camp. All of them were tested for COVID-19. At the end of the quarantine period, 122 of them were COVID-19 positive."
 Badaru revealed that those discharged after testing negative were given clothes and a welfare package of N10,000.
 The governor further revealed that his state will incorporate the almajiri system of education into mainstream education.
