Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has at last spoken about the passing of his colleague and friend Junior Pope.
The 39-year-old said on his Instagram page on Thursday, April 25, that it is hard to say goodbye while sharing a photo of Junior Pope.
He wrote: “It is difficult to say RIP Nwanne."
Social media users criticized Zubby Michael for not publicly mourning Junior Pope who died in a boat accident alongside four other people while returning from a movie shoot.
On the evening of April 10, Junior Pope was declared dead following many unsuccessful attempts at resuscitation. While returning from the set of Adanma Luke's film 'Another Side of Life', the actor, make-up artist Abigail Frederick, and members of the production team perished in the Anam River.
Zubby Michael opted to keep quiet about Junior Pope's death, in contrast to a number of his colleagues who publicly commented, such as Angela Okorie, Ebele Okaro, Ini Edo, Destiny Etiko, Chizzy Alichi, Prince Eke, Jerry Amilo, Patience Ozokwo, and Lizzy Gold.
Angela Okorie became outraged by Zubby's silence and accused him of being conceited and envious on her Instagram page.
On Thursday, April 18, Zubby did, however, reply to those who questioned why he had not publicly grieved for his colleague or shared a picture of the deceased as others had done on Instagram.
Reacting, he uploaded a video to his Instagram page with the caption: “Make una rest no be by posting.”
