AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has shed light on why Samuel Chukwueze is not starting matches ahead of Christian Pulisic for the Rosonneri.
According to the Italian manager, it is impossible to drop Pulisic for Chukwueze despite calls for more game time for the former Villarreal forward.
Pulisic started once again against Juventus and was substituted with seven minutes remaining for Samuel Chukwueze.
Explaining why the former Chelsea man is starting ahead of the Super Eagles star, the former Lazio boss said:
“I liked Pulisic instead. Chukwueze is also fine, but at the moment I won’t give up an extra midfielder to play with four attacking players, and therefore Chukwueze is the one sacrificed the most at the moment.”
Pulisic has managed 13 goals in 46 matches across all competitions for Milan this season.
Chukwueze has 3 goals and two assists in 22 appearances in for the Rossoneri.
