A group loyal to the former Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has praised their principal after Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, set up a judicial panel of inquiry to investigate how governance affairs were conducted in the state before he took office.

In a video that has surfaced on social media, Wike's loyalists were heard shouting, "the only way to save Rivers State is the Wike revolution." The video has since sparked mixed reactions on social media.

Recall that Fubara has been in a standoff with his political godfather since he assumed office. Last October, members of the state House of Assembly loyal to Wike attempted to impeach Fubara.

The governor's declaration is believed to be aimed at his immediate predecessor and estranged political godfather, Nyesom Wike.

On Monday, Fubara called on the new Rivers State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Dagogo Iboroma (SAN), to prepare for legal challenges ahead.

He made the statement at the Government House in Port Harcourt during Iboroma's swearing-in as the new attorney general of the state. This was hours after the three-member factional state House of Assembly loyal to the governor approved the SAN’s nomination for appointment, as reported by The Punch.

Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor, a Wike loyalist, previously held the position but resigned from the cabinet after Fubara reassigned him from the office of the attorney general to another ministry.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Fubara mentioned that he was appointing Iboroma as the new attorney general at a crucial time when there were numerous legal matters that needed to be addressed with bravery and courage.
