Reno Omokri, a social commentator has shared his assessment of the security situation in Anambra State during the tenure of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections.
Obi served as governor of the state from June 2007 to March 2014. He has previously held the position from March to November 2006 and February to May 2007.
Omokri, who has on several occasions called out the leader of the Labour Party claimed Anambra was more insecure during Peter Obi's tenure than Kaduna. He called out the former Governor for "sounding sanctimonious" when hundreds of citizens died under his watch.
He made the comments in an interview on Television Continental when reacting to the kidnap and subsequent release of 137 students abducted by bandits early in March.
"If we have a security crisis like this, we should come together and point our hands at a solution. Like I told you, problem, reaction, solution.
"I mean you take into account a man like Peter Obi. When he was governor of Anambra State, the state was more insecure than Kaduna State is right now. And yet, you have this man quantification, you hear him sounding sanctimonious. When he was governor, you had hundreds of Anambra youth, men killed extra judiciously by the state and their bodies dumped in rivers," he said.
"Anambra was so insecure they had daylight robbery".
